working principle
When the voltage applied to the varistor is below its threshold, the current flowing through it is extremely small, which is equivalent to a resistor with an infinite value. That is, when the voltage applied to it is below its threshold, it is equivalent to an open state switch [1]. When the voltage applied to the varistor exceeds its threshold, the current flowing through it surges, which is equivalent to an infinitely small resistance. That is, when the voltage applied to it is above its threshold, it is equivalent to a closed state switch.
Use attention
1. If the varistor is applied to a high-voltage line similar to thunder, it is recommended to install the varistor on the 220v power line.
2. If the thermistor is connected between the live part of the equipment and the metal casing, necessary measures must be taken to prevent accidents caused by electric shock.
3. The varistor should be protected from high temperature and high humidity such as wind, rain and water vapor. It should also avoid working under dust, salt and harmful gases. Protection box should be used if necessary
4. The sensitive resistor should be stored in a warehouse with a temperature below 40 °C and a relative humidity of no more than 75% RH. There should be no corrosive gas in the warehouse. The varistor stored in the warehouse cannot be directly exposed to sunlight.
